Yellowtail Snapper
Ocyurus chrysurus
A very active, fast-swimming snapper with a blue-silver body and a bright yellow horizontal stripe leading to a yellow tail. They are schooling fish that need a lot of open swimming space and are best kept in large groups in very large tanks.
About the Snappers Family
Snappers are hardy, active predators that grow quite large. They are best suited for large fish-only tanks with other aggressive species. They are voracious eaters that will consume any smaller fish or invertebrates, so they are not suitable for reef tanks or community tanks with small peaceful fish.
