Sammara Squirrelfish

Sammara Squirrelfish

Neoniphon sammara

Also known as the Bloodspot Squirrelfish, it is more silvery than other members of its family with red markings. It is slightly more active during the day than other squirrelfish but still appreciates plenty of shade.

About the Squirrelfish Family

Squirrelfish are nocturnal fish characterized by their large eyes and typically red coloration. Because they are active at night, they prefer tanks with plenty of caves and overhangs to hide in during the day. They are generally peaceful but will eat small crustaceans like shrimp and crabs.
